Happy Holidays Cake

This was a fun cake to make. Who doesn't like a little holiday magic?

The spruce trees, presents, holly leaves and figures are made out of marshmallow fondant with a little Tylose Powder added to firm them up.  I formed the trees on a cone made out of stiff paper (which was removed once they stiffened up). The fondant items were made four days prior to assembly of the cake, so they had time to stiffen up. The penguins are my favorite. :-)

The covering on the igloo is made out of marshmallow fondant, made the day of assembly.

The sheet cake and round igloo shaped cake is red velvet flavor. It is iced with butter cream that I added a little peppermint extract to for that holiday flavor. Crushed candy canes were added as a garnish.

Everything is edible on this cake.
